The Day Marzullo Called Me
A memory of the invitation to Sottovoce and the decision to bring the same honesty sought in his films into the studio.
In April 2019 Pietro Mereu received a call from Gigi Marzullo’s editorial team. After telling them about his life and providing photographs to prepare the interview, he was invited to Rome for Sottovoce. His personal account remembers the RAI car, the dressing room, meeting Marzullo and, above all, the decision not to perform a character: to remain himself and bring into the interview the same truth he seeks in documentary work.
