God’s Managers (I manager di Dio)
A documentary miniseries by Pietro Mereu
Synopsis
What can Benedictine monks teach the modern-day CEOs of Silicon Valley? “God’s Managers” is an original documentary miniseries that explores the unexpected intersection between the ancient Rule of Saint Benedict and contemporary corporate management and leadership practices.
Inspired by the research and book of expert trainer Rocco Meloni, director Pietro Mereu steps inside monastic walls to uncover a millennium-old organizational structure built on concepts that are seemingly simple yet deeply revolutionary: corporate human resource development, strict time management, the art of listening, and community sustainability. Through insightful interviews with monks, abbots, and business experts, the series proves that the historic precept “Ora et labora” (Pray and work) holds essential answers to the complex economic and ethical challenges of modern capitalism.
Project Statement:
“Benedictine monasteries were history’s very first multinationals, capable of enduring centuries of geopolitical and economic crises. This project was born to show that corporate efficiency does not have to compromise on humanity, ethics, and solidarity.”
